This video is our complete guide on how to make a PaperMC server for Minecraft 1.16.4. We show you every step of making your own Paper Minecraft server. From where to download the Paper server files to how to setup a Paper server in Minecraft 1.16.4 to even how to port forward and allow your friends to play on your Paper server, this video really does show you how to do it all. Thus, without any more delay, here is how to create a Paper server in Minecraft 1.16.4!
The first step of getting a Paper Minecraft server is actually downloading the Paper Minecraft server files. You can find a link to the official download page for Paper in the description above. Once you are there, confirm you have the ‘Paper 1.16.4’ tab selected. Then, click the black download button on the very top version listed. This will have a number on it. When you do this, the Paper server files will start downloading right away. You may need to keep/save the files depending on your browser.
Now that the Paper server file is downloaded, you need to create a folder on your desktop, and move the file you downloaded into it. Then, right-click and create a new text document. Open this text document, and copy one of the codes from the description above and paste it in the document. Then, click file, save as, and name the file ‘run.bat’. Also change the save type as to ‘all files’. Save the file, and you will see a ‘run.bat’ file appear. First though, you need to rename the Paper file you downloaded to ‘paper.jar’. Then, double click on the run.bat file.
Your PaperMC server will try to start, but it will fail. You will, however, have an ‘eula.txt’ file appear. Open that, and if you agree to the EULA, change ‘EULA=false’ to ‘EULA=true’. Now, double click the run.bat file again. Your Minecraft Paper server will start right on up! At this point, you know how to make a Paper Minecraft server that can be used for testing. At this point though, your friends can’t join your server. For that, you will need to port forward.
We cover port forwarding in depth in the video, but the short version is that you will need to forward port 25565 on the TCP and UDP protocol for the device that you are setting up the server on. Once you have done this, you can get your public IP address from the link in the description above. The IP given on this page is what your friends will use to join your server.
