it doesn’t matter if the phone is from Google, Samsung or Xiaomi, they all seem to have issues with connecting to Bluetooth devices. Sometimes it happens right out of the box while other times I see it happen after the user has been using it for a little while.
So in today’s video I’ll be focusing on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro so I can show you how to fix many bluetooth connection issues that you may be experiencing. There are about 5 things we can try here, but let’s start with the most basic.
– reboot hte phone
so the first thing I want you to do is simply restart your pixel 6 smartphone. I know this sounds simple and basic, and I know that you may have already rebooted the phone and are still experiencing bug with bluetooth devices. but it’s a highly useful troubleshooting step and it’s recommended so I’ll restart my phone right along with you.
once it has booted back up, try to reconnect with that bluetooth device you’re having issues with and see if anything has been resolved. again, I know it’s a simple step but I have seen people tell me that a reboot is all that was needed.
– reset network connections
if that didn’t help, the next thing I recommend is something that is built right into the Android OS itself. we can find this by –
settings – system – reset options – reset wifi & mobile & bluetooth
now, using this bluetooth reset feature will delete all of your saved wifi and bluetooth devices. I do understand that it is a pain to add these back to the pixel 6 and pixel 6 pro again, but again, it’s much better than doing a full factory data reset and has been shown to fix these bluetooth issues for thousands of people here on my channel
– delete bluetooth app data
now, if that still hasn’t helped then there’s another thing we can do that is tied specifically to the bluetooth service. not many people know that bluetooth is controlled by a system application that can be found installed on the smartphone.
settings – apps – see all – show system – bluetooth
so from here we can force stop the pixel 6 bluetooth service, and then go into the storage section and delete/wipe the data that is being used by the application. now restart your phone and pair the phone to bluetooth again
– experimental developer mode dabeldorsh
one of the last things that I can recommend to fix bluetooth bugs is to try out this experimental developer option feature. because even google knows the bluetooth stack on Android is a mess. so they have a team that has been working on a new service to handle your bluetooth devices. but again, this is experimental so it needs to be enabled from the secret developer options menu.
if you haven’t enabled this menu yet, be sure to check the video description below since I will link to a previous tutorial I have done about the topic
there are also a number of bluetooth settings here that you can tinker around with to see if it improves compatibility with your bluetooth devices. just make note of what these options are set to by default in case you want to revert them back to their default values.
and again, go ahead and reboot your smartphone after making these changes so that Android can have a fresh start when trying to connect to another pair of bluetooth earbuds.
– factory reset the phone
