Fastboot Mode is a special boot mode included in many Android smartphones and tablets. The idea is to offer a way to give you a deeper level of access to the hardware’s filesystem while keeping it separated from Android.
This way, you can’t break critical aspects of the platform by accident.
The first bit shown in the video is how we can boot the Redmi Note 10 Pro into Fastboot Mode using the traditional button combination method. This requires our phone to be in a powered-off state but can actually be timed if your Redmi Note 10 is currently in a bootloop as well.
These two buttons only need to held down for a few seconds. As soon as you see the little Russian doll thing on the screen, you can let the buttons go because you’re now at the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max Fastboot Mode splash screen.
This is where you would start executing some Fastboot commands from the Terminal, PowerShell, or Command Prompt.
You’re able to force the phone to reboot out of Fastboot Mode and back into Android by simply pressing and holding the Power button for 7-10 seconds. The screen will go black and it will at least attempt to boot into Android.
If you’re stuck in a bootloop here with the phone constantly rebooting back into Fastboot Mode then follow this tutorial and boot the phone into Recovery Mode instead.
That way you can perform a factory data reset/data wipe in an attempt to restore the Android OS to a bootable filesystem.
In this video, I also show you how to boot the Redmi Note 10S into Fastboot Mode using the ADB reboot command.
Remember, Fastboot Mode is also known as Bootloader Mode. So that’s why we need to use that particular reboot command here.
